In July of 2023, Johnny and Lindsay's love story began on an exceptional, spiritual journey in Israel with Dr. Dean Haun and First Baptist Church, Morristown. Lindsay only knew one person going on the trip but was eager to experience Israel and grow in her faith. Both Johnny and Lindsay told themselves that they wouldn't be the type of person to go on such a life-changing trip and return with a girlfriend/boyfriend. However, the LORD had other Providential Plans! On their fourth day in Israel, it was obvious to everyone (except Lindsay) that Johnny was interested in her, so he invited her to go on a walk with him around the campus where they were staying. Lindsay agreed and they set off on this first stroll while they talked and dodged ant hills in the Israeli heat. After 30 minutes, Johnny admitted that he had feelings for Lindsay and asked if she would go out on a date with him once they returned to Tennessee. Pleasantly surprised, it took Lindsay a few moments to process his request but wisely answered "yes." Since that time, they have shared countless walks, endless conversations and many exciting "yeses" to the future together.
